Hamster on the Wheel
So let's see .. I work as hard as I can at my job so that the boss might grant me a bit more salary. My salary allows me to go to the mall or to the internet to buy the latest book or the latest gadget they promise will change my life, make me more attractive, or give me peace. I spend my money like they told me I should, and I feel like what I think a rich man might feel like. I look like what I think a rich man might look like.
I start running out of money, but they tell me not to worry, that's why we have credit cards. Spent all the money you have? Don't worry, you can spend all the money you MIGHT have, may be. I then have to go back and work harder at my job, otherwise I don't be able to service my debt, or to buy more things they tell me I need to make my life complete. The wheel turns and turns.
Before you know it, I spent my life working my fingers off to make others rich.
Don't expense your salary. Build assets.
(I just finished reading "THE CASHFLOW QUADRANT" .. have a read yourself.)
